The Kuşadası Municipality’s food bag support has started.

Kuşadası Municipality has started to provide weekly nutritional support to the children aged 6-14 from low-income families living in the city for the new educational year. On the first day of distribution, members of the Kuşadası Municipal Council accompanied the teams from the Social Assistance Department.

Kuşadası Municipality, which has received praise for its work in social municipalism, continues its nutritional bag support initiated last year for children from low-income families, whose purchasing power has decreased due to rising inflation and consecutive price increases, during the 2024-2025 academic year. In this context, the first nutritional support prepared in separate packages for each child was delivered to parents at designated distribution points with the participation of Kuşadası Municipal Council members. Parents who received the packages, which included raw nuts, seasonal fruits, fruit juice, water, milk, and sandwich bread that students should have in their bags during school feeding times, thanked Mayor Ömer Günel.

The project, which brings smiles to parents, will continue throughout the 2024-2025 academic year. Families can collect the nutritional packages every Monday starting from 2:00 PM at the distribution points set up in front of the Kuşadası Municipality New Service Building, İkiçeşmelik Neighborhood Mourning House, Uğur İnan Sports Hall, Ege and Karaova Neighborhoods’ municipal buildings, Davutlar Neighborhood Municipal Service Building, and across from the old municipal service building in Güzelçamlı Neighborhood. Nutritional packages will also be delivered to families in Uydukent Site, Kirazlı, Soğucak, and Yeniköy neighborhoods by the vehicles of Kuşadası Municipality.

“We are always by our students” Mayor Ömer Günel stated that families with children receiving education are still going through financially difficult times, saying, “First and foremost, the healthy development of our young people and children, who are the guarantee of our future, is of great importance to us. In our country, where the economic crisis deepens day by day, we will do our best for our students this year within our authority and resources. At the beginning of the academic year, we installed free water dispensers in our schools, particularly in elementary schools. Thus, our students have started to fill their bottles and water flasks with healthy and clean water for free. This year, we will continue our nutritional bag support to ensure our students have a proper and balanced diet.”
