Support for women from the Kartal Municipality: The Women’s Labor Market has opened its doors.

Kartal Municipality continues to diversify its work and projects to increase the number of women who produce and to support their economic independence. To ensure that women are more involved in the workforce, the ‘Kartal Women’s Labor Market’ has been opened at Kartal Square. The market, which will host visitors on October 21-22, features handmade products produced by women for sale.

The event, organized by the Directorate of Women and Family Services, aims to enable women to contribute to the family economy and reach a wider audience with their handmade products. At the Kartal Women’s Labor Market, handmade products produced by women, such as jewelry, knitting, crochet, sewing, felt items, decorations, painting, cloth dolls, toys, bags, embroidery, and food, are sold by women.

This market, which showcases the production power of women, supports them not only in terms of economic gain but also as a social platform. The opening of the market was attended by Deniz Karacan, the Director of Women and Family Services of Kartal Municipality, along with department heads of Kartal Municipality, showing support for women as emphasized by Dr. Dilek Kars, the Deputy Mayor of Kartal. Kars highlighted that the ‘Women’s Labor Market’ offers an important opportunity for women to express themselves both economically and socially. She invited all citizens of Kartal to the market, emphasized the importance of purchasing handmade products to support women, and thanked the working women. Kars stated that they will continue their efforts to produce more comprehensive solutions to the problems of women in the district under the Directorate of Women and Family Services of Kartal Municipality.

Citizens who participated in the market supported the working women of Kartal by purchasing beautiful handmade products while also adding color to their own lives with these unique items.
