The “Digital Language Lab” project of Bursa Technical University (BTÜ) has won a grant of 250,000 Euros from the Turkish National Agency. Within the framework of this international partnership project, educational tools will be developed to enable teachers to be more effective in the digital world.
Bursa Technical University has achieved significant success with the “Digital Language Lab” project under the Erasmus+ KA220-SCH Program, earning a grant of 250,000 Euros from the Turkish National Agency. The “Digital Language Lab (DLL)” project, coordinated by BTÜ, will last a total of 30 months and involves partner institutions from Italy, Spain, Germany, Poland, and Turkey. The project team, which focuses on developing educational materials and tools to help teachers be more effective in the digital world, includes Instructor Özlem Cengiz and Instructor Elif Atalı from the BTÜ School of Foreign Languages, as well as Instructor Ali Kılıç from the International Relations Office.
The project aims to enhance teachers’ digital knowledge and skills, enabling them to use modern tools in language education. After preparing a joint curriculum for language teaching at A1-B2 levels in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), a digital platform will be developed to provide teachers with language activities supported by Web 2.0 tools and training content for the use of these activities in the classroom environment.
Along with the project, a digital platform specifically designed for teachers will be established. This platform will offer digital tools and language teaching activities for teachers while also providing access to educational materials and opportunities for professional development. Throughout the project, cooperation meetings among partners and sharing of best practice examples will aim to enhance the quality of the project outputs.
Congratulating the instructors who received support for their projects, BTÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Naci Çağlar emphasized the importance of international-scale projects. He stated that Bursa Technical University places great importance on internationalization efforts to become more visible on the global stage, saying, “While our negotiations for collaboration with many universities and institutions around the world continue, we are also working together on joint projects and signing agreements with different countries. Just last month, we signed many collaborations at the EAIE International Education Conference and Fair held in France. Our academics are also promoting BTÜ’s name worldwide through international-scale projects like Erasmus. Our current goal in terms of internationalization is to become a part of the European Universities Association.”
