Eight years after the failed coup attempt on July 15, 2016, July 15 veterans, who received the news of the death of FETÖ leader Fetullah Gülen, gathered in front of the Sincan Penal Institutions Campus and celebrated with drums and zurna.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Mehmet Celal Almaz expressed that the news of FETÖ leader Fetullah Gülen’s death made them very happy, stating that those who betrayed the state would be buried far away from Turkey in a stateless manner.
After Gülen’s death, Almaz addressed the members of the terrorist organization, saying, “Look, your leader is dead. You should come to your senses. Instead of dying stateless, come, repent and ask for forgiveness from our state. Whatever the cost, bear it and take your place under the compassionate wings of our state.”
Veteran Emine Aydınbelge, who was injured as a result of gunfire from a helicopter in front of the General Staff during the treacherous coup attempt on July 15, said, “Let this be a lesson to terrorist leaders like Gülen and those who follow them. What such people do does not go unpunished. We are after them both in this world and the hereafter. We trust our Lord and our judges in this world. They will pay for their crimes. Those who follow him should also know that this will not go unanswered. We are here to show that just because he is dead, we do not say ‘FETÖ is dead, this is over’ against those who covet our country or have different ambitions.”
“We will hold those people and their leader, Gülen, accountable in the Court of Judgment.”
Veteran Ahmet Çaykara emphasized that everyone who does good or evil will have to answer for it, stating, “We have accounted with America’s apparatus and the brainwashed robots during the court proceedings. Some of them have received their punishments, while some are still undergoing legal processes. As someone who believes in the state, we will continue to hold them accountable. We know that the real reckoning will be in the Court of Judgment. There, we will personally hold those people and their leader, Gülen, accountable. We do not forgive them for our rights.”
