Information Technology Expert Hakan Topuzoğlu stated that e-books are now preferred more due to their ease of use, saying, “The global market size of e-books has reached 388 billion dollars.” He mentioned that printed books reach readers through fairs, but digital media has also brought forth e-books. “Of course, printed books reach their readers thanks to the fairs. However, with the development of digital media, electronic books, or e-books, have emerged. Currently, the global market has a volume of 388 billion dollars. This volume is growing every day. In fact, the writing process for e-books is much more advantageous. People who have knowledge in a subject and can conduct research can quickly turn this information into written form using traditional programs or specific programs designed for writing e-books. They can easily convert them into PDF format and share them with readers through platforms like Google and similar media. The biggest advantage of e-books is that they are much cheaper to produce in terms of cost. Therefore, they are also offered for sale at very reasonable prices. Of course, since there is no printing process involved, printing costs are eliminated. Additionally, since an e-book can be sold millions of times, copyright costs are also significantly reduced. This creates a great advantage for authors and provides readers with the opportunity to access information more economically.”

Topuzoğlu stated that the power of e-books in the market is increasing day by day, saying, “Indeed, when we examine the situation, e-books are gaining more and more strength in the market every day. On platforms known worldwide, an e-book can be sold thousands, hundreds of thousands, or tens of thousands of times. As a result, authors are showing more interest in this area. At the same time, readers can easily find every book they are looking for in digital media; for instance, when we want to get acquainted with new technologies, we may not have access to Turkish sources or printed materials. However, through the platforms I mentioned, we can reach these resources much more easily and purchase books containing significant information for a fee between 50-100 TL when converted from global prices of 1 dollar or 2 dollars. We can say that there are no signing days for e-books; however, authors still hold meetings, discussions, and seminars through known programs. We can participate in these and ask questions. We try to utilize this media extensively. I also want to mention that I have a book published in 1998. I find it difficult to access this book even now, but if it had been digital, it could have been accessible for centuries. From this perspective, I recommend that traditional publishing houses revise and strengthen their understanding and transition to the e-book sector and e-book media as soon as possible.”
