President Çolakbayrakdar: “Kocasinan’s second factory is a significant investment and profit.”

The Kocasinan Municipality’s aggregate production facility, which is environmentally friendly, meets world standards, and covers an area of 200,000 square meters, stands out as the only one in Kayseri and an example in Turkey. Kocasinan Mayor Ahmet Çolakbayrakdar emphasized that the production facility is a significant investment and gain for the future of the district, stating that they are increasing the standards of being a “self-sufficient municipality” every day.

Mayor Çolakbayrakdar mentioned that Kocasinan has big goals and that they are focusing on infrastructure and facility works within this scope, stating that they produce the necessary materials for asphalt with the Aggregate Production Facility they opened in 2023.

Highlighting that they have taken important steps towards being a “self-sufficient municipality” and that they are one of the few municipalities in Turkey in this regard, Mayor Çolakbayrakdar said, “When I took office in 2015, I aimed to establish an asphalt plant and then an aggregate production facility. Thankfully, we have realized these goals. We have taken another step towards becoming a ‘self-sufficient municipality.’ Kocasinan covers a large area, and one of the most important services of municipalities is road construction and asphalt laying. In this regard, we have brought this facility to our city. We established our environmentally friendly facility, which has a capacity of 250 tons per hour, completely with our own resources, without any loans or debts. Our facility, which cost 70 million TL, is good for Kayseri and Kocasinan. I see this facility as Kocasinan’s second factory. I thank my friends who brought the parts of the aggregate facility from Kocaeli here with 26 trucks and set it up. Just like our asphalt plant, our aggregate production facility also consumes 6 megawatts of energy. Therefore, we plan to establish another energy facility. In all our works, we prioritize the understanding of savings. We achieve significant savings with the asphalt plant and aggregate production facility we have established. This facility, which directly affects the quality of service to our citizens, produces higher quality, lower cost, and longer-lasting aggregates. Our goal is to advance Kocasinan in every way and provide the best services to our citizens,” he stated.

Mayor Çolakbayrakdar also added that they will continue to invest and produce services in every area for a “Strong and Great Kocasinan.”

On the other hand, the facility that started production in the Gürpınar area last year has the capacity to meet at least 20 years of Kocasinan’s road construction needs, providing the opportunity for faster, more economical, and quality production with a capacity of 250 tons per hour and 750,000 tons per year. The teams of the Department of Science Affairs take samples every day for world-standard quality asphalt production, conduct analyses in their laboratories, and produce asphalt gravel in various sizes necessary for road construction.
