Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality will produce 1 million 30 thousand winter seasonal flowers in different types and colors at its facilities, which will beautify the intersections and medians of the city.
The Parks and Gardens Directorate continues to produce various types of seasonal flowers, trees, and shrubs at the Seedling Production Branch located in Şilbe TOKİ for a greener and more aesthetic Diyarbakır. Dividing the year into summer and winter periods, the Seedling and Afforestation Branch Directorate will decorate the intersections and medians of the Yenişehir, Bağlar, Kayapınar, and Sur districts with a total of 1 million 30 thousand flowers produced in-house during the winter season. In this project, which will also provide significant economic savings, the Seedling and Afforestation Branch Directorate will produce a total of 1 million 30 thousand flowers, including 500 thousand violets in red, yellow, and white for the winter months, and 530 thousand ornamental cabbages in red and white.
Women are involved in the production phase
In the production efforts at the Seedling Production Branch, where women are also involved, winter seasonal flowers are prepared to meet the soil after going through stages such as seeding, spraying, and transplanting. Alongside winter seasonal flower production, the Seedling and Afforestation Branch Directorate is also conducting flower harvesting, land clearing, and infrastructure work in the areas where it plans to plant flowers in the intersections and medians of the four central districts. The teams are reviewing the irrigation systems in the infrastructure processes. In this project, where soil needs in certain areas are being reinforced, flower harvesting and space clearing for new plants are also being carried out.
Seasonal flowers will soon meet the soil
After completing the infrastructure, flower harvesting, and land clearing works, the Seedling and Afforestation Branch Directorate will start to combine the winter seasonal violets and ornamental cabbages it produces with the soil at certain intervals. The Parks and Gardens Directorate continues to routinely produce various types of shrubs used in landscaping at the Seedling Production Branch. In the production branch, where the plant demands of citizens and public institutions are met, the teams also continue to produce Iranian pine, black and blue cedar trees from seeds collected in green areas.
