In Sivas, a signing protocol was carried out for the ‘Cyber Homeland Turkey Program’, which is of great importance for the future of the country.

Under the coordination of the General Directorate of Development Agencies of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, an important step was taken within the framework of the “Turkey Cyber Homeland Program”, carried out in collaboration with the Presidential Digital Transformation Office, the Presidency of Defense Industries, the General Directorate of Youth Services of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the Turkey Cyber Homeland Cluster. The “Turkey Cyber Homeland Protocol” was signed under the auspices of the Governorship of Sivas, in collaboration with the Central Anatolia Development Agency (ORAN), Sivas Cumhuriyet University, and Sivas Science and Technology University. The signing ceremony, held in the Ahmet Muammer Bey Hall of the Historic Governorship Building, was attended by Sivas Governor Yılmaz Şimşek, Sivas Cumhuriyet University Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Şengönül, Sivas Science and Technology University Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Kul, and ORAN Secretary General Yunus Emre Şeker. In his speech at the ceremony, Governor Yılmaz Şimşek wished the signed protocol to be beneficial.

“The need for trained youth in the field of cyber security is increasing every day”

Expressing that the need for trained youth in terms of cyber security is increasing every day, Governor Şimşek stated, “As you know, we are living in an era where technology is rapidly developing and spreading to every aspect of our lives. This process undoubtedly brings along cyber security risks as well. The recent cyber attacks and crimes have once again revealed how great this risk is. Therefore, the need for trained youth in the field of cyber security is increasing every day. The ‘Turkey Cyber Homeland Program’ is a comprehensive project aimed at training qualified human resources, which is one of our country’s greatest needs in the field of cyber security. With this program, our youth will be given the opportunity to develop themselves in the field of cyber security and strengthen our country’s cyber defense systems,” he said.

“Sivas will stand out in cyber security”

Governor Şimşek stated that under the protocol, young people will receive basic training related to cyber security, will receive mentoring services from experienced experts, and will have the opportunity to intern at leading firms in the sector. “Thus, they will not only put their theoretical knowledge into practice but also have the opportunity to be closely involved with the sector. This program, carried out in cooperation with the Turkey Cyber Security Cluster, will also contribute to the employment of our youth and the realization of their own initiatives. In this way, new forces will be added to our country’s cyber security ecosystem, and support will be provided for domestic and national production in the field of cyber security. As you know, significant steps have been taken in the digital transformation process of our country under the leadership of our esteemed President. This program will also be an important part of this transformation. I believe that the youth who will be trained through this program will protect our country’s cyber security and make our country stronger in the cyber domain. Hopefully, this protocol will also highlight our city in the field of cyber security, and Sivas will be an exemplary city in this regard. I would like to express that we are happy to sign this beautiful project that our country also needs and sincerely congratulate everyone who contributed to it,” he expressed.

The protocol, aimed at training experts who will play a critical role in ensuring Turkey’s digital security, was signed after the speeches.
