Consulting Services for Students in Malatya

Malatya Metropolitan Municipality provides free guidance services to enhance the academic success of students and youth and to support their personal development processes.

The Malatya Metropolitan Municipality, which offers student consultancy services and guidance support at the Women and Family Counseling Center located in Sümer Park, continues its efforts to increase the academic success of young people, assist in their career planning, and contribute to their personal development processes. These free consultancy services, which address the academic, social, and psychological needs of students, help individuals overcome the challenges they may face in their journey from university preparation to post-graduation.

Psychologist Burak Güllü, who works at the Women and Family Branch of the Malatya Metropolitan Municipality, talked about the consultancy services, stating, “Some of our clients receive therapy services related to issues they face with their children. We also provide consultancy services on family and couple communication simultaneously with the other clients. Students and young people, especially, experience effects related to issues such as anger problems, eating disorders, sleep problems, or earthquakes; if these situations shape their lives, they can apply to us for consultancy services.”

Another staff member at the Women and Family Branch, Specialist Clinical Psychologist Elçin İnci Birer, also mentioned that they provide consultancy services regarding family-child relationships, stating, “We offer consultancy services to every segment of society, regardless of whether they are children, adolescents, young people, elderly women, or men. The consultancy service is provided free of charge by our municipality. Our door is open to everyone. We are waiting for all families and children at our family counseling center to provide guidance and psychological support.”

Eren İnan, who is receiving guidance consultancy services and preparing for university, stated that he has made significant improvements in his life regarding educational planning and other topics thanks to the services he received. Eren İnan said, “There was no one educated around me. I applied to this center to get support. I started to get better results along with the lesson programs. Thanks to this, my grades started to improve. I began to adapt more. My self-confidence has increased a bit more. I recommend other exam students like me to receive support here. I thank our Metropolitan Municipality for the student consultancy services provided.”
