Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan stated, “We will continue to fight against terrorism and organizations supporting terrorism in the field, while we fight with our institutions. We will never allow this city to return to the days when it was associated with terrorism and chaos. We will achieve this together with you.”

Minister Işıkhan attended the 6th Ordinary Congress held by the AK Party Sur District Presidency in a hall. In his speech here, Işıkhan said that the “From Our Essence to the Future Turkey Meetings,” organized by the Organization Presidency in 81 provinces last month, which brought together citizens from 7 to 70 in brotherhood meetings, served to emphasize this determination once again.

Stating that through these meetings, they sought solutions to the problems of all citizens, from workers to employers, from young to old, retirees to farmers, while also establishing new bridges of heart that would strengthen the sense of unity and solidarity, Işıkhan expressed that they would continue to develop the working life, economy, and social life of Diyarbakır with these bridges.

Emphasizing that Diyarbakır is the guarantee of this geography, Işıkhan continued his speech:

“Thanks to the AK Party’s service understanding, Diyarbakır has now become the center of peace, not terrorism. My request from you, dear brothers, is that as AK cadres who believe that this city is too valuable to be handed over to terrorism and terrorists, you should continue to convey this without tiring to all our brothers in the region. We will continue to fight against terrorism and organizations supporting terrorism in the field while we fight with our institutions. We will never allow this city to return to the days when it was associated with terrorism and chaos. We will achieve this together with you.”

“We must be strong in this geography”

Minister Işıkhan pointed out that one of the largest massacres in world history is taking place just to the south, stating, “These attacks are against human dignity. They wound not only those lands but all of the Islamic geography and even humanity. The silence of world politics against Israel’s state terrorism should be a lesson and an example for all of us. This alone shows us that we must be strong in this geography. The cost of being strong in our geography is heavy. We already know this from the struggle our President has given. But the cost of being weak in these lands is much heavier. Just look at Palestine, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon,” he said.

Işıkhan emphasized that they will continue to work and strive for the beautiful future days of the country, the region, and Diyarbakır together with citizens and state institutions, stating, “I thank the district chairman and management who have served our Sur district organization until today for their efforts, and I wish success to the newly elected chairman and management in their future work.”

AK Party Diyarbakır Provincial Chairman Mehmet Raşit Ocak, in his speech, said that each organization member present in the hall would move toward their goal without getting stuck on any obstacle that comes their way for the cause they believe in. Ocak stated, “Our biggest goal is to create the opportunity to re-elect our President as President in 2028.”

The congress process began after the speeches. With the district congress, the district chairman, district board members, and delegates will be determined.
