The Ministry of National Education has initiated education and training in one of Turkey’s first “vocational middle schools” within vocational and technical Anatolian high schools in the İnegöl district of Bursa. In order to contribute to this process, vocational middle schools, which will accept students studying in middle school for the first time in Turkey, have been opened in Bursa, Sivas, Konya, and Burdur.
The vocational middle school opened within the Hacı Sevim Yıldız Vocational Education campus in İnegöl, Bursa, has started education with 64 students. İnegöl District Governor Eren Arslan visited the school with the accompanying National Education Director Halil İbrahim Zengin.
Emphasizing that one of the four vocational middle schools in Turkey is located in İnegöl, District Governor Eren Arslan stated, “Today, we are in the campus of our Hacı Sevim Yıldız Vocational Education High School. The application of vocational middle school, which is the first in Turkey, has also started in our district. Currently, vocational middle schools have been opened in 4 provinces in Turkey. One of them is in our district, and the strong industrial infrastructure of our district and our strong vocational education infrastructure at the high school level were among the reasons for the establishment of this school. Our school currently has 64 students, and as a popular department, we believe that the number will increase in the coming years. The opening of these schools by our ministry is also important to us because it is crucial to identify our children’s vocational skills early and provide them with education in this field, which will help guide their choices for high school and university correctly in the future. In this sense, I hope that the implementation, which is the first in Turkey, will be beneficial for our district and especially for the strong industrial infrastructure of our district that needs vocational education.”
İnegöl National Education Director Halil İbrahim Zengin stated, “Our İnegöl Vocational Education Complex, whose foundations were laid in 2006, was opened in 2013 with the participation of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and has started its educational activities. Our Vocational Education Complex is established on an area of 302,000 square meters and includes 36 buildings. Among these buildings, there is a kindergarten, a primary school, a middle school, and 5 Vocational and Technical Anatolian High Schools, serving a total of 2,500 students. Within our Vocational Education Complex, there are dormitories for girls and boys with a capacity of 300 students, two fully equipped cafeterias, one Z library, one amphitheater library, one indoor sports hall, and the Sectoral Excellence Center that started serving in 2023 under the coordination of our ministers and the European Union. This year, there is also a middle school opened within our vocational and technical high school, which is one of the rare schools in Turkey. I believe that this middle school will significantly open new horizons for our children in terms of vocational inclination at a young age. I would like to thank everyone involved in the opening of this school, especially our Minister.”
