The informational meeting organized to combat the brown marmorated stink bug in Çaycuma was conducted under the presidency of District Governor Adem Kaya. The meeting, which included the technical team of the District Agricultural Directorate, public health personnel, village heads, representatives of municipalities, and the Chairman of the Chamber of Agriculture, focused on the measures to be taken to prevent the spread of the bug.
It was emphasized during the meeting that it is critical to combat the brown marmorated stink bugs, especially during this period when they are drawn to wintering areas. Experts from the District Agricultural Directorate stated that chemical, biotechnical, and mechanical methods can be used together to control the pest. Additionally, participants received practical training on the setup and application of traps to be used for these methods.
The meeting highlighted the need for all institutions and local governments to work in cooperation to increase the effectiveness of the fight. Participants expressed that acting in complete coordination in the fight against this pest would enhance success.
