In Cappadocia, which is on the UNESCO World Natural and Cultural Heritage list, the Salomon Cappadocia Ultra Trail, featuring extraordinary natural beauty and history, has started in the Ürgüp district.

One of Turkey’s largest and most challenging running events, the Salomon Cappadocia Ultra Trail, will take place on October 19-20 with the participation of many athletes from both domestic and international backgrounds in the unique hills and valleys of Cappadocia. Organized for the 11th time this year by Argeus Travel & Events under the sponsorship of Salomon, the event has attracted 2,400 athletes from 73 countries. The races will be held on 3 courses: 119K (Salomon Cappadocia Ultra-Trail), 63K (Salomon Cappadocia Medium-Trail), and 35K (Salomon Cappadocia Short-Trail). Additionally, a total of 425 athletes will compete in the Team Games, consisting of corporate teams made up of male and female athletes.

The Organization President Aydın Ayhan Güney stated, “Despite the early hour of the morning, there is a large crowd. Around 2,450 athletes from 73 countries have gathered here again. This year, we have a strong presence of elite athletes. We are ready for the race, the courses are marked, and all preparations have been made.”

Güney mentioned that three courses have been created in Cappadocia’s unique geography: “There are 38, 63, and 119-kilometer courses. These courses pass through some of the most beautiful valleys in Cappadocia. The 119-kilometer race, which will start shortly, will last for 24 hours. Especially, the 119 km course will cover all areas of Cappadocia,” he expressed.

As the racers pass through villages and towns, they become immersed in the region’s mystical atmosphere, while the local people cheered and applauded the athletes.
