Trabzonspor Club President Ertuğrul Doğan stated that they need 30 million Euros by the end of December to obtain a license, emphasizing that they have accomplished very good work in economic terms. During the meeting, it was announced that Trabzonspor’s debt is 3 billion 150 million TL.
Trabzonspor Club President Ertuğrul Doğan met with the press at the Şenol Güneş Sports Complex. In a press conference held together with Club General Manager Sinan Zengin, a presentation was made regarding the club’s economic structure and the exit process from the Banks Union. At the meeting, it was announced that the net debt of the burgundy-blue club as of October 19, 2024, is 3 billion 150 million TL (84 million Euros).
Stating that the financial situation for Trabzonspor is starting to turn positive, Doğan said, “Looking at the field, I can say that I am embarrassed to the community. We have made very important efforts in economic terms. Significant stages have been passed. The situation is turning positive. All our plans are ready. In the coming days, we will share with you where we are targeting in terms of land. We will satisfy our supporters and investors.”
President Doğan mentioned that there is no issue regarding the quality of the players, stating, “This is also said by Coach Şenol. We believe that the person who will get us out of this situation is Şenol Güneş, which is why he came to duty. We have put in serious effort, but we have not seen the results on the field until today. Our former coach was not satisfied with this situation either. Our new coach is also not satisfied. I believe we will get rid of this situation as soon as possible.”
When asked, ‘Will you run again in the congress to be held in December?’ President Doğan replied, “We have approached the places we mentioned in economic terms. If there were no fluctuations in interest rates and foreign exchange, we could have been in different places. I have never left any job I started unfinished up to now.”
Stating that they will overcome the challenges ahead with Trabzon’s strength, Ertuğrul Doğan said, “These are not just problems that we as the board of directors will overcome. We have not received support from very valuable businessmen. Perhaps the fault is ours, I do not know. The support should be for Trabzonspor, not for me. We have suffered greatly. I do not want the person who will be the club president after me to experience these difficulties. We have faced serious amounts every month. Have we fallen into despair? No. We will continue to fight. Everyone needs to support Trabzonspor. I am competing with budgets that are almost 7-8 times that of my rivals. I have been having discussions for a few days. Everyone is willing in this direction; we will act together.”
Speaking about Trabzonspor’s goals, President Ertuğrul Doğan said, “We do not have a situation where the season is over. I believe in my coach Şenol. Our coach is very ambitious. It would be a lie to say that I have not been wrong about this ambition. We will fulfill the requests of the technical staff as management in terms of transfers. It is also my job to fulfill those requests.”
