Gursu Municipality, in collaboration with BTSO, Uludağ University, Bursa Technical University, and BİSİAD, has implemented a project that has reached over 2000 young people and more than 100 women in the past 14 months.
The project, coordinated by the Research and Development Department of Gursu Municipality and under the coordination of BEBKA, has been launched with a grant support of 700 thousand lira and a budget of 1 million 43 thousand 600 lira as part of the successful projects of the Ministry of Industry and Technology’s SOGEP (Social Development Support Program) for 2023, and will be completed in 18 months. Gursu Mayor Mustafa Işık stated, “We introduced our young people aged 13-18 to entrepreneurship at an early age by organizing Digital Game Development hackathons. We supported women over 40 to become entrepreneurs without opening a company, benefiting from tax exemption advantages. Witnessing the achievements of our young people who want to produce and contribute to the economy is our greatest reward.”
At the ceremony, BTSO E-Commerce and Digitalization Council President Ilker Özgüven gave a presentation on “The Power of Digital Competition – Bursa’s Role in the Global Arena,” after which candidate selections for the Academy were made.
Within the framework of the Academy, it is aimed to increase the employment and entrepreneurship of young people and women by providing them with e-commerce and digital marketing competencies and contributing to the digital transformation processes of tradesmen and companies. In the “5th Young Digital Entrepreneurship Academy,” participants will have the opportunity to receive 120 hours of theoretical training and gain 80 hours of field experience after company matching.
Through the academy, which offers many opportunities to university students and graduates aged 18-35 with the slogan “Discover Yourself, Notice the Industry, Seize Opportunities,” young people will discover themselves through inspiring talks and training, become aware of the industry by matching with companies in collaboration with BTSO, and will have the chance to catch job and internship opportunities in these companies.
