Yılmaz said, “As the Community Supported Policing Branch of the Şırnak Provincial Police Department, we have activated the ‘Shining Stars of Tomorrow’ program this year in Şırnak under the Children and Youth Social Protection and Support Program (ÇOGEP). Today, we have our kite festival, which is an activity of this program. With our slogan ‘Let’s brighten the sky together,’ we selected 200 children from our schools. We aimed to create a warm and friendly environment for them to spend time with our police officers. We aim to reintegrate our children who have been involved in crime, are prone to criminal behavior, have experienced social exclusion, or come from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds into society. Our goals are to strengthen police-community relations, foster a sense of cooperation between the police and the public, instill love for the police, and leave a positive impression on them. With the support of Şırnak Provincial Youth and Sports Directorate, we aimed to create a pleasant time for our children today with activities such as clown performances, face painting, and obstacle courses in addition to the kite festival.”
The event was attended by Şırnak Provincial Police Chief Serdar Büyükleblebici, Deputy Provincial Police Chief 2nd Class Police Chief Emine Akbaş, 2nd Class Police Chief Yılmaz İpek, Community Supported Branch police teams, teachers, and students.
