The Folk Dance Community of the Eskişehir Anadolu University Center for Folk Sciences and Research received an impressive invitation from China.
Prof. Dr. Hasan İslatince, the Director of the Center for Folk Sciences and Research at Eskişehir Anadolu University, stated, “The Folk Dance Community of the Eskişehir Anadolu University Center for Folk Sciences and Research has been invited to the ’10th Silk Road International Art Festival’, which will be held in Xian, the capital of Shaanxi Province in China, and is one of the world’s distinguished art festivals. The festival will start on October 19 and will last for one month; artists and groups from Turkey, Austria, Hungary, Russia, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Italy, Serbia, Georgia, Uganda, Thailand, Singapore, and the Macau Special Administrative Region of China will participate, showcasing a total of 33 plays and 63 performances.
The Folk Dance Community, representing our country and Anadolu University at such an important international festival, has participated in festivals in many different countries around the world and has gained international recognition in the category of folk dances with its performances. Based on the successes shown on the international stage, all expenses of the group will be covered by the organizing committee of the 10th Silk Road International Art Festival. The head of the delegation will be Prof. Dr. Hasan İslatince, and the Folk Dance Community will perform dances from the Black Sea, Burdur, Sema, Kıskanç, Antep, and Muğla regions at the festival,” he said.
Prof. Dr. Hasan İslatince added, “We wish success to the Anadolu University Folk Dance Community, which undertakes the mission of promoting our country’s rich cultural heritage at an international event, in their upcoming performances.”
