The budget of Gemlik Municipality is 1 billion lira.

The Gemlik Municipality of Bursa has approved its 2025 Revenue and Expenditure Budget in the municipal council. During the budget discussions, Gemlik Mayor Şükrü Deviren responded to the opposition, which occasionally diverted the topic to criticize the municipality’s other activities, saying, “We must be united and together in the work to be done for Gemlik.”

At the beginning of his speech, Mayor Deviren addressed the criticisms regarding the Hemşehri Associations Festival and the Book Fair. He stated that during the voting for the organization of the Hemşehri Associations Festival, which took place last week, it was decided to hold it in İskele Square. He mentioned that negative issues arose in the subsequent process and that they would meet with the Tradesmen’s Chamber regarding the matter. Although there were mistakes in the implementation, he emphasized that it was right for the associations to come together and noted that they would also ensure balance among the future speakers at the Book Harbor.

Inviting all political parties to the October 29 Republic Day celebrations, Mayor Deviren stated in the council: “We will open the Second City Restaurant under the Multi-Storey Car Park. This is a central point and can serve meals to 5,000 people in an emergency. A serious team has been established for Urban Transformation, and they are working day and night. We can share our work with you in the coming days. The pollution of Karsak Stream is coming from Orhangazi, especially the MARZIM area. We talked with our mayor. We are examining the practices of other municipalities. In Gemlik, there will be no more ‘I’m sulking, I won’t play.’ Everyone has the right to criticize, and we respect that. But we must be united and together in our work.”

The 2025 Revenue and Expenditure budget of Gemlik Municipality was accepted by the CHP and AK Party groups, while the MHP and Great Unity Party voted against it, leading to its acceptance by a majority vote. Accordingly, the Gemlik Municipality’s 2025 Revenue and Expenditure budget amounted to 1,075,079,000.00 Lira.
