Keçiören Municipality’s free service, Keçiören Art and Vocational Training Courses (KEÇMEK), started the new term with the “Hello to Education” festival.
The program held at Kalaba City Square brought together students who joyfully danced and played halay. In the festival where the Keçiören Municipality Conservatory choir and folk dance group performed, students and teachers singing along to the songs made a pleasant start to the new academic year.

60 different branches of education
At KEÇMEK, training will be provided in 60 different branches with the aim of equipping women with new knowledge and skills to gain professions and strengthen family economies. Students will not only use their free time effectively but will also develop themselves in various fields and acquire new professional skills. After the training provided by master instructors in dozens of different branches ranging from knitting to jewelry making, beauty and hair care to wooden painting, clothing to wire art and ceramics, certificates will be given to the students. At KEÇMEK, which will provide educational opportunities at 12 different centers in the district, students will be able to showcase their handcrafted works produced during the training at the year-end exhibition for art enthusiasts to appreciate.

Contributing to employment
Stating that they will continue to bring women in the district together through cultural and social activities and add value to their lives, Keçiören Mayor Dr. Özarslan said, “Our Keçiören Art and Vocational Training Courses provide hope to women who want to gain professions and also offer employment opportunities. Our KEÇMEK trainers touch the lives of our women with the education they provide in our courses and prepare them for the future. I wish the new educational term to be beneficial for all of us.”
