Excitement filled the air during the final event of the Code16 Software Development Program, initiated by the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality to train talented programmers capable of developing solutions for smart city applications. Following three months of the program, the graduates had the opportunity to showcase the projects they developed in the fields of software and gaming.
The Bursa Metropolitan Municipality continues to support those who aspire to become programmers and entrepreneurs, aiming to implement the innovations brought by technology into daily life through smart city initiatives. The Code16 Software Development Program was organized by the Smart City Branch of the Information Technology Department of the Metropolitan Municipality to train talented programmers capable of developing solutions in areas such as urban management, transportation, energy, and environment. Participants in the program, conducted under the Bursa Smart City Academy, successfully completed their three-month training. During the final event held in the Metropolitan Municipality Council Hall, the team representatives of 12 projects selected based on evaluations by experts in training and smart cities presented their projects to the attendees. After the presentations, certificates were awarded to 200 participants who successfully completed the training.
Ali Altınsoy, Deputy Secretary General of the Metropolitan Municipality, stated that the program provided participants with the opportunity to develop their skills and talents in various fields like software and game development. He emphasized that smart cities are built by well-trained human resources and expressed his belief that the participants would undertake larger projects in the future.
Demet Sönmez, the Smart City Branch Manager, noted that the Smart City Academy set out with the goal of training programmers who will build the cities of the future. Sönmez stated that smart cities gain meaning not only through technology but also through the young people who develop that technology, and congratulated everyone who participated in the program.
