Manisa Celal Bayar University (MCBÜ) started the new academic year with the Opening Ceremony of the 2024-2025 Academic Year.

The Opening Ceremony of the 2024-2025 Academic Year was held at Manisa Celal Bayar University (MCBÜ), where nearly 50 thousand students are educated. Before the opening ceremony, a mini concert performed by the Music Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design of Manisa CBÜ was applauded for a long time by students, academics, and the protocol. A plaque was presented to the orchestra due to the concert held.

In her speech at the opening ceremony, the Rector of Manisa Celal Bayar University, Prof. Dr. Rana Kibar, provided information about the faculties in the university and the projects they have done and will do. Kibar stated, “Manisa is a city that is quite developed in terms of industry. In addition to many of its developed features, we have a vocational school to contribute to employment in this regard. With a total of 15 vocational schools in almost every district of Manisa, except for two districts, we continue to provide qualified graduates who are sought after, but we refer to them as sought-after employees, especially in industry.”

Noting that they look to the future with hope with Manisa CBÜ, Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ferdi Zeyrek said, “Our university, which is a part of this beautiful city, enables us to look to the future with hope through our youth raised in the light of knowledge and science. As Manisa Metropolitan Municipality, we consider education one of our top priorities. Raising a generation enlightened by science and contemporary education means carrying our country to a stronger, freer future. Education is not only the process of acquiring knowledge but also the development of individuals’ abilities to think freely, question, and produce. With this understanding, we are committed to being alongside our students as Manisa Metropolitan Municipality, making efforts to contribute to their educational lives.”

Manisa Governor Vahdettin Özkan stated that education is a multifaceted actor, saying, “Education is truly a multifaceted area that guides all sectors and all people. Of course, our academics and teachers do this. This education, which gives spirit, direction, and meaning to all sectors, has existed as a public service throughout human history. From the first human to the present, the question of how we can continuously improve and develop this educational activity has been the most important issue for people. Improvement has been an open field. Education is a very universal service that concerns all humanity. Our state and government must make significant efforts to activate and disseminate this educational public service as a representative of the feelings of our people. However, it is important to have the participation and contribution of both educational institutions and all other sectors to public education,” he expressed.

After the speeches, the first lesson on “Interaction of Information Technologies and Information Disciplines” was given by TÜBA President Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Şeker.

The opening ceremony was attended by Manisa Governor Vahdettin Özkan, Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ferdi Zeyrek, MCBÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Rana Kibar, Manisa Chief Public Prosecutor Kurtça Eker, Manisa Provincial Police Chief Fahri Aktaş, Şehzadeler District Governor Fatih Genel, Yunusemre District Governor Atilla Kantay, President of Manisa Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mehmet Yılmaz, Manisa Provincial Director of Agriculture Metin Öztürk, Provincial Director of Family and Social Services Mustafa Kılıç, President of the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA) Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Şeker, as well as academics, students, and many guests.
