The Deputy President of Religious Affairs, Selim Argun, stated, “We are going through difficult times. As a community, as a country, as a region, as a geography. The massacres taking place in Gaza are happening right before our eyes. The war is rapidly spreading to the region.”
Genç Memur-Sen has launched a new project organized by the Academic Thought Education and Civilization Community (ADEM), which aims to bring young people together with qualified guests. The event, which will be held by ADEM Academy from October 16 to 27, will feature a total of 17 guests across four different topics: education, law, political science, and theology. The first session of the event was attended by the Deputy President of Religious Affairs, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Selim Argun. The certified program, which young people aged 18-35 can apply for, has no restrictions on field applications.
“Our ADEM Academy program consists of four courses in theology, law, education, and political science.”
Speaking at the event, the President of Genç Memur-Sen, Mesut Emre Balcı, said, “With the trainings and seminars we have prepared for our university student friends in Ankara in four different topics, we will conduct quality trainings where you will benefit from the experiences and different perspectives of our guests, beyond the theoretical courses you take in your existing classes, at school and university. Our ADEM Academy program consists of four courses in theology, law, education, and political science. And hopefully, when you complete all four courses in theology, we will present you with a certificate. We will also have book giveaways. God willing, we will have institutional visits. In other words, it will be a beautiful content where we receive, share, and learn both academic knowledge, experience, and institutional information. Today, we are also conducting our first lesson together.”
“The massacres taking place in Gaza are happening right before our eyes.”
Before starting to teach the students, Deputy President Argun recalled the saying, ‘Devamu’l hal mine’l muhal, ya yeni hal ya izmihlal,’ stating that it is a phenomenon of the reorganization. He continued, “Devamu’l hal mine’l muhal, ya yeni hal ya izmihlal. When we look at international relations, considering the potential in our country, the great dangers surrounding us, and the approaching great war, I chose this phrase as a title because a spirit of mobilization should envelop us all. We are going through difficult times. As a community, as a country, as a region, as a geography. The massacres occurring in Gaza are happening right before our eyes. The war is rapidly spreading to the region. In an environment where we discuss whether it will come to Turkey, whether it won’t, and if it does, what should be done, what precautions should be taken, we will search together for the answer to the question of how a theology faculty student or graduate should be equipped and how they can be better prepared against this new political instability and military challenges this evening.”
