The exhibition titled “Cosmic Experiments,” prepared by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bayram Bozhüyük from Gaziantep University (GAÜN) Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Graphics, was opened at the Müzeyyen Erkul Gaziantep Science Center.
The exhibition, curated by GAÜN Faculty of Fine Arts Acting Dean Prof. Dr. Ayhan Özer, offers viewers the opportunity to explore the secrets of the universe and the boundaries of art. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bozhüyük’s works aim to provide participants with a different experience by combining visual arts with scientific themes.
In his speech at the opening of the exhibition, GAÜN Faculty of Fine Arts Acting Dean Prof. Dr. Ayhan Özer stated, “We are living in a beautiful time where science and art are intertwined. In these paintings, graphic designs, and illustrations, even if you cannot see the outside world, it seems to me that we are living such a life in the parallel universe of the world we live in. Because technology, social media, science, and artificial intelligence have become so integrated into our lives that even if we are not physically within these cosmic structures, we will soon start to experience them in our minds. Although science enriches our lives and comfort zone, we must know that without art, our important values will be lost. When we think about ‘how can we integrate science with art?’, our teacher Bayram’s exhibition offers a significant opportunity to understand the value of the time we are in. I thank everyone who contributed to the exhibition,” he said.
In his speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bayram Bozhüyük noted that modern thought in the 20th century was considered as a reflection of ideals in space, saying, “Space is not just a physical area for modern thought and science; it is also a symbol of humanity’s exploration, progress, and imagination. In this context, I reinterpreted the cosmos and the future in the exhibition using the modernist forms of the past century. I invite you to think about the universal values and how powerful a structure is when scientific thought is combined with art.”
The exhibition will be open for art lovers until November 16, 2024, at the Müzeyyen Erkul Gaziantep Science Center.
