Interior Minister Yerlikaya: “It is aimed to complete and deliver 139,000 houses to the rightful owners in Hatay by the end of 2025.”

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya stated that 223,162 citizens are living in 76,401 containers in Hatay and said that the goal is to complete and deliver 139,000 houses to rightful owners by the end of 2025.

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya came to Hatay for various contacts. Minister Yerlikaya’s activities began with a visit to the Hatay Governorship. After the visit to the governorship, Minister Yerlikaya attended the Peace and Security Meeting at the AFAD coordination center. After the meeting, Minister Yerlikaya made statements to the press.

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya stated that there are 154,471 rightful owners in Hatay, saying, “In Hatay, there are a total of 154,471 rightful owners, including 137,780 houses, 15,929 workplaces, and 762 barns. In the permanent housing process, a total of 82,169 houses have been tendered to be delivered to rightful owners, and 57,153 houses are in the tender phase, and this process is ongoing. In the housing draws held, in the first and second draws, 9,876 houses and 1,009 village houses, totaling 10,885 housing draws have been made, and the keys have been delivered. In the third housing draw held last week, a total of 7,519 housing draws were made, including 6,983 houses and 536 village houses in Hatay. A total of 18,404 housing draws have been made to date, including 16,859 houses and 1,545 village houses. May it be good and auspicious. Together with the delivered houses, by the end of 2024, 42,330 houses will hopefully be delivered in Hatay. By the end of 2025, the goal is to complete and deliver 139,000 houses in Hatay to rightful owners,” he said.

Minister Yerlikaya expressed that since the earthquakes on February 6, a total of 20 billion 282 million 530 thousand TL has been distributed in cash by AFAD to disaster-affected citizens in Hatay, stating, “In the province, 223,162 of our citizens are being hosted in 76,401 containers. A total of 27,118 Esen cards have been distributed to our citizens. After the February 6 earthquakes in Hatay, a total of 20 billion 282 million 530 thousand TL has been provided in cash aid by AFAD to disaster-affected families, including 12 billion 39 million TL in rent assistance, household support payments, relocation assistance, family support, and welfare aid.”
