AK Party Artvin Deputy Faruk Celik stated that the risk of landslides continues in Artvin, where heavy downpours have caused floods and landslides, urging citizens to heed the warnings of the authorities.
Today, during the noon hours, heavy rainfall affecting the Eastern Black Sea Region caused floods and landslides in the coastal areas of Artvin. In a statement regarding the issue, AK Party Artvin Deputy Faruk Celik noted that teams from the Special Administration, Highways, and AFAD are on the ground. Celik expressed in his written statement that the risk of landslides continues and that the teams are actively working in the field, saying, “I am closely monitoring the landslides occurring in our region. Due to the ongoing rainfall, the risk of landslides persists, but our teams from the Special Administration, Highways, and AFAD are continuing their work actively in the field. Regular inspections are being conducted, and necessary interventions are swiftly carried out in the areas where safety has been ensured.”
Celik warned citizens to be cautious, stating, “In our Arhavi district, the villages of Dereüstü, Kireçlik, Güneşli, Gürgencik, Dikyamaç, Küçükköy, Kemerköprü, Kestanealan, Derecik, Aşağı Şahinler, Yukarı Şahinler, in Hopa district, the villages of Çamlıköy, Çimenli, Esenkıyı, Eşmekaya, Pınarlı, Yeşilköy, Başoba, and in Borçka district, the villages of Karşıköy, Maral, Uğur, and Güreşen are under close monitoring by our teams regarding the landslides. Our priority is to ensure the safety of life and property. Therefore, I kindly ask all citizens to pay attention to the warnings of the authorities and to stay away from risky areas. I have full faith that by acting together, we will overcome this challenge as well.”
