In Fatih, Istanbul, the Great Family Platform organized a “Great Family Gathering and Silent Walk” with the slogan “Stop This Immoral Influx” to raise awareness about LGBT issues. Hundreds of citizens came together to demand the ban on LGBT propaganda and organization.

The Great Family Platform held the event in Saraçhane Monument Park with the slogan “Stop This Immoral Influx”. Serdar Eryılmaz, Secretary General of the Great Family Platform, had invited all families to the march against the LGBT propaganda and imposition threatening society during a press conference held in a hotel in Şişli a few days ago. As a result, hundreds of citizens participated in the event with their children. Families joined the third edition of the gathering, carrying Turkish flags and banners. The banners included phrases such as “We want legal regulation”, “We want constitutional protection for our family”, and “Do not give passage to those who declare war on family”. After the protocol speeches held at the program, the crowd, holding banners and Turkish flags, walked silently to Beyazıt Square. In the square, young representatives of NGOs affiliated with the Great Family Platform made speeches.

Elif Nur Güvençer, who made a press statement, said, “First and foremost, it should be well known that the LGBT propaganda and imposition knocking at our door is a direct threat to the existence of humanity. The very low birth rates of the first 50 countries, including our country, in the United Nations Human Development Index indicate the severity of this threat. This picture points to a humanity that is becoming extinct as it develops according to the current paradigm of development. The programs implemented to increase birth rates and the hundreds of billions of dollars spent on this also fail to provide solutions to improve this grim picture. At this point, our country’s birth rate per woman is 1.51, which is well below the population’s renewal threshold and is rapidly declining. The upcoming picture shows us the bitter reality that our country no longer has a young population that we can proudly mention. The drop in the birth rate below two children indicates not only the loss of demographic power but also another loss. The fact that families in big cities are having only one child means that we will lose the concepts of uncle, aunt, and cousin in a generation. Today, I speak here as an aunt whose lineage will become extinct in a generation. With the current demographic trend, we will lose many roles and ties in our family in a generation.”
