The 3rd International Antalya Yörük Türkmen Festival, organized by the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, experienced a surge of visitors on its second day. On the second day of the festival, Mayor Böcek visited the area and hosted guests in his tent. Throughout the day, festival attendees had the opportunity to explore Yörük culture in all its aspects, from traditional sports to local handicrafts, folk dances to concerts. The archery, sword, and acrobatic performances conducted on horseback were breathtaking.
Antalya Metropolitan Mayor Muhittin Böcek visited the area on the second day of the festival. Hosting guests in his tent, Mayor Böcek met with representatives from both domestic and foreign participants. Mayor Muhittin Böcek mentioned that they have a project to create a Union Network with Turkic States and thanked the foreign guests who supported the Yörük Türkmen Festival. While accepting traditional gifts from guests from Turkic Republics, he also gifted them Döşemealtı carpets.
The festival experienced a surge of visitors
In the festival, which showcased all aspects of Yörük culture, Yörük associations introduced traditional handicrafts such as local clothing, carpet and rug weaving, and wool spinning in tents set up at the venue. The Yörük people also treated visitors to their traditional dishes. The tents of the guest countries attracted significant interest. Guest countries, dressed in traditional attire, hosted visitors in their country tents and also offered their unique dishes to attendees. The booths and food and beverage units within the festival area were also overwhelmed with visitors.
The equestrian show was breathtaking
Music and dances, which are an inseparable part of Yörük Türkmen culture, also garnered intense interest at the festival. On the event stage set up in the area, concerts and dance performances by local artists, as well as groups from outside Antalya and abroad, were watched with great enthusiasm. The horseback archery, sword, and acrobatic show organized by the Peştallı Club was breathtaking.
The 3rd International Antalya Yörük Türkmen Festival, which witnessed intense crowds on its second day, saw participation from a total of 19 independent and autonomous republics and countries, including 7 independent Turkish Republics, 3 Autonomous Turkish Republics, and 9 countries where Turks reside in significant numbers. The festival, held at the Döşemealtı Karaman Picnic Area by the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, featured booths from 35 municipalities and 59 Yörük Türkmen Associations, along with 25 traditional artisans who continue to practice endangered crafts.
