Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Metin Genç, along with Akçaabat Mayor Osman Nuri Ekim, inspected the project that will connect the Akçaabat-Yıldızlı coast with the sea, aiming to create a living space and coastal arrangement.
After the inspection, Mayor Ahmet Metin Genç made a statement: “With our project, we hope to transform the coastal area starting from Söğütlü, extending to Yaylacık and Akçaabat, into a living space. Our citizens have requested more opportunities to connect with the sea. We promised during the election period that we would create spaces where our young people, elders, and children can relax and enjoy themselves. Together with Akçaabat Mayor Osman Nuri Ekim, we stated that we would take a step to beautify our Akçaabat by developing a joint project. Now, we are striving to fulfill that promise. We have completed our infrastructure works in the part we designate as the first phase, which is the Söğütlü area. Currently, we are in the second phase. Here, with the support of our city’s son, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Mr. Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, and the Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Mr. Murat Kurum, we will hopefully bring the living space to life along with the implementation projects. However, without waiting for the second phase, we aim to complete our prepared project related to the first phase within two months and present it to our ministers in Ankara. We want to bring this project to Trabzon and Akçaabat. May it be auspicious from now on.”
Akçaabat Mayor Osman Nuri Ekim, in his statement, said: “We are in a place that will meet significant needs in the future for our Eastern Black Sea region. This is the Yaylacık coast, and we are working on arranging the coastal section of the area from Yıldızlı to a point in Ortahisar, towards the west of the city. We are evaluating our processes regarding the first and second phases. Hopefully, we will complete these processes soon and turn this place into areas where our citizens can comfortably spend their time. The project will include areas such as uninterrupted walking and cycling paths, cafeterias, activity areas, an aquapark, an amphitheater, and event spaces. This project, which reaches our Yıldızlı Neighborhood, will connect with the Gülcemal project carried out by our Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality, creating an uninterrupted line up to the Ganita area.”
