A cultural art exhibition on Afghanistan was opened by Sultan Özateş and Ramesha Muradi within the framework of the ‘Master-Apprentice Project’ in Turkey.

A painting exhibition was opened by educator Sultan Özateş and his student Ramesha Muradi as part of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism’s ‘Master-Apprentice Project’. The exhibition, organized to strengthen the friendship and unity between the two countries, also included works by Saime Nuri, an artist trained by Ramesha Muradi. In addition to the exhibited paintings, the event featured handicrafts and traditional clothing related to Afghan culture.

“Our goal is to introduce Afghan Turkmen and the Afghan people to our youth.”

Educator Painter Sultan Özateş stated that the theme of the exhibition was the colors of Afghanistan, and he has been conducting ‘2 states 1 nation’ projects as an educator since 2000. Özateş expressed that he has been carrying out artistic activities with his Afghan student Ramesha Muradi, whom he has trained in painting since 2018, saying, “In these 5 years, we have started to exhibit all the works produced by our student. Our goal is to introduce Afghan Turkmen living in our country and the Afghan people to our youth. Ramesha Muradi is also a university student; we opened an exhibition at Ankara Nergiz Cultural Cafe Art Gallery with the paintings he created and the student he trained. In this exhibition, there are traditional clothes worn by the Afghan people, the handicrafts they use, and the historical structures made by Ramesha Muradi that belong to his country.”

“It will continue at the Faculty of Dentistry Art Gallery at Ankara University.”

Özateş indicated that the exhibition, which opened on September 9 at the Nergiz Cultural Art Gallery, will end on September 15, stating, “The exhibition will continue at the Faculty of Dentistry Art Gallery at Ankara University afterwards. The aim is to reflect the common points of Afghan culture and Turkish culture among the students studying at the university, the connection, brotherhood, and harmony process between Turkish communities and the Islamic geography.”

Özateş emphasized that if the apprentice does not surpass the master, the master has not attained mastery in the eyes of God, highlighting that art is a trust, and he will take this trust from his masters and pass it on to his apprentices. He described Ramesha’s training of his own student as a source of pride, reminding that this is a tradition of craftsmanship, the trust must be passed from hand to hand, and art is a heritage.

“I am trying to introduce Afghanistan in Turkey with my works.”

Painter Ramesha Muradi stated that he aims to introduce Afghanistan with his works, saying, “Since 2019, I have been conducting painting studies with Sultan Özateş at the Ankara Art Platform. I am a fourth-year student of Visual Communication Design at Kütahya Dumlupınar University. Today, we opened an exhibition within the framework of the ‘Master-Apprentice’ project. I am trying to introduce Afghanistan in Turkey with my works. I have loved painting since I was a child. Later, I met Sultan Özateş and continued under his guidance.”
