Ankara Metropolitan Municipality is welcoming university students at the “Solidarity Desk” established at AŞTİ in collaboration with the Ankara City Council Capital Youth Assembly. The Solidarity Desk, which operates under the slogan “University Can Be Studied in Ankara,” provides students with detailed information about the city, ranging from housing to transportation.

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality continues its support for university students.

In collaboration with the Ankara City Council Capital Youth Assembly, a “Solidarity Desk” has been established at the Ankara Intercity Terminal Enterprise (AŞTİ) to welcome students who come to Ankara for university education.

“The Capital is our home, welcome”

When students take their first steps in Ankara, they are greeted by members of the Capital Youth Assembly to help them feel at home. At the Solidarity Desk, established with the slogan “University Can Be Studied in Ankara,” students obtain information about the services of the Metropolitan Municipality and the Capital Youth Assembly, covering everything from housing to transportation.

A warm welcome message is conveyed to the students with a banner prepared with the signature of Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş that reads, “The Capital is Our Home, Welcome.” The Social Services Department also offers various refreshments to the students.

Iyigün: “We are ensuring their adaptation to Ankara”

BUGSAŞ General Manager Vecihi Halil Iyigün provided information about the services offered to the students, stating: “AŞTİ is the opening door to our capital Ankara, and we are organizing a welcome day within AŞTİ in collaboration with the BUGSAŞ General Directorate and the Youth Assembly for students who are coming to Ankara for the first time or who have passed the university entrance exam. We introduce the incoming students to Ankara and the youth centers opened by our Metropolitan Municipality. Our friends in the Youth Council explain to the students one-on-one how to use transportation, where they can live and spend time, and we ensure their adaptation to Ankara.”

“We say ‘University Can Be Studied in Ankara'”

Halil Ecer, the President of the Capital Youth Assembly, expressed that they will continue to welcome students in solidarity until September 22, stating, “Information about what activities are available in Ankara and opportunities across many areas, including the cafes established by the municipality for young people, are conveyed directly to the youth. We have prepared roadmaps and brochures about how they can get to their schools and dormitories. We say ‘University Can Be Studied in Ankara.’ Both intellectual accumulation and academic work, as well as the heart of social and cultural life, beats in the Capital. As the Capital Youth Assembly, we welcome young people coming from outside during this process and foster peer solidarity.”
