The sports schools that continued throughout the summer holiday at the Youth and Sports Directorate facilities in the Gediz district of Kütahya have come to an end. A total of 2,771 sports cards were issued within the scope of sports schools and ministry projects.

As part of the “No One Should Be Unable to Swim” project in Gediz district, 338 people were taught how to swim, marking an important step. As of September 2024, 2,411 licensed athletes and 1,665 sports cards were issued.

District Youth and Sports Director Muhammed Keskin stated regarding the matter, “In our sports schools, we provided training in various branches for young people aged 5 to 16. Our youth evaluated their free time with sports in many branches such as swimming, volleyball, basketball, football, gymnastics, children’s athletics, educational games, folk dances, table tennis, badminton, kickboxing, taekwondo, and traditional archery.”

Keskin added, “We provided services with a total of 12 coaches, including 4 permanent, 4 EYS (Educator Swimming Class), and 4 under the Public Education Center. I would like to thank Gediz District Governor Hakan Alkan, Kütahya Youth and Sports Provincial Directorate, Gediz District National Education Directorate, Gediz Public Education Center Directorate, and Gediz Youth and Sports District Directorate staff for their support in the success of the sports schools.”

Lastly, Muhammed Keskin expressed, “I thank everyone who did not spare their support for the successful completion of our sports schools. The youth of Gediz spent a summer filled with sports and gained many new skills. We are grateful to all institutions and personnel involved in this process.”
