The security traffic measures to be taken in the new academic year in Eskişehir were discussed.

In Eskişehir, a meeting on ‘Security Traffic Measures to be Taken in the 2024-2025 Academic Year’ was held under the chairmanship of Governor Hüseyin Aksoy.
In his speech at the meeting, Governor Hüseyin Aksoy stated that a decree had been issued regarding the security measures to be taken around schools. Governor Aksoy continued, “We had issued a general order so that children are not affected by negative environments, and do not encounter negative situations such as drugs, tobacco, etc. With this general order, it was specified that irrelevant individuals and groups should not be present in the yards of all primary and secondary schools in our province, except for student families, parents, school administrators, teachers, and school staff during entry and exit. It was also stated that street vendors should not sell around schools and measures regarding the attendance of our children to school were outlined. Unfortunately, there are students who are registered but do not attend school. We are constantly monitoring these cases.”

“If a child is found in an internet cafe during class hours, we will take action against that internet cafe”
Emphasizing the importance of knowing the reasons for students’ non-attendance and how to respond, Governor Aksoy stated, “We especially emphasize that children should be in school during class hours with this decree. If a child escapes from school and goes to an internet cafe, we will intervene. Our decree states this; if a child is found in an internet cafe during class hours, we will take action against that internet cafe. We will impose administrative fines. Another measure in this decree is that we have banned individuals from carrying any kind of knife, sharp, piercing, or injurious tools around the school, even if it is a smaller, simpler item like a pocket knife. Our security units will be sensitive to ensure that if they detect such a thing around the school, actions will be taken according to the misdemeanors law. We care about the safety of our children. Additionally, in another decree we issued, we are actively working to prevent children from being forced to work on the streets or to beg. Our relevant units, including our police, gendarmerie, and the Family and Social Services Directorate, are diligently continuing their efforts in this regard,” he expressed.
