Minister Ersoy and President Sahin made grape molasses.

The Kayna Soap and Molasses Museum, restored and brought to the city by the Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality, was opened with the participation of the Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy as part of the GastroAntep Cultural Route Festival activities.

Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy and Gaziantep Metropolitan Mayor Fatma Sahin, along with AK Party Group Deputy Chairman and AK Party Gaziantep Deputy Abdulhamit Gül, Gaziantep Governor Kemal Çeber, and AK Party Gaziantep Deputies Derya Bakbak, İrfan Çelikaslan, and Bünyamin Bozgeyik, conducted inspections at the Kayna Soap and Molasses Museum before the opening.

A visit was made to the han that tells the journey from grape to molasses. Minister Ersoy and Mayor Sahin made grape molasses. Minister Ersoy tasted the bastık, a geographically marked product made from grapes.

After the visit to the molasses museum, they proceeded to the soap museum. In the soap museum, the section explaining the stages of soap production was examined.

The opening took place with the cutting of the ribbon accompanied by well wishes from the protocol.

About the Kayna Soap and Molasses Museum

The han, which has an important place in the city with its production of olive oil, soap, molasses, and lentils from the past to the present, features a unique structure that connects two streets through a staircase and has been transformed into a museum, offering visitors a privileged museum experience where they can enjoy exploring and learning.

The structure will narrate the journey from olive formation to collection, from oil formation to soap formation, and from grape harvesting to molasses production, featuring visual materials, video films, and digital presentations. Sample soaps will be presented during the museum tour, and in the molasses workshop, innovative products made from syrup will be introduced and tasted.
