A faculty member from KBÜ became the world champion in the field of “Medical Innovations and Inventions.”

Dr. Aydın Sinan Apaydın from Karabük University Faculty of Medicine, who has made it to the prestigious 2024 TOYP Global “10 Most Successful Young People in the World” list, has become the world champion in the field of “Medical Innovations and Inventions.”

Dr. Aydın Sinan Apaydın was recognized among “Turkey’s 10 Successful Young People” in 2023 in the area of “Medical Innovations and Inventions” due to his innovative work in the medical field and earned the right to represent Turkey at 2024 TOYP Global. Following evaluations, Apaydın secured his name on the list as the world champion among “10 Most Successful Young People in the World.”

Having won the TÜBİTAK 2219 scholarship, Apaydın continues his studies and research on minimally invasive spine surgery at Duke University Department of Neurosurgery for one year. As of 2024, he has published 11 international articles, two TÜBİTAK 1002 project applications, book chapters, oral and written presentations, while also continuing R&D studies on artificial intelligence-based ophthalmoscopy and self-lighting cervical retractors.

Apaydın will receive his award at the 2024 JCI World Congress, which will be held in Taoyuan, Taiwan from October 29 to November 2, 2024.
