Modern facilities from Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality to Balya

Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality has opened a 4,500-square-meter facility that includes a modern and functional Bus Terminal, Fire Station, and On On Cafe, which will add value as a social area, addressing one of Balya’s biggest needs.

The Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality is bringing the necessary facilities to Balya. The modern and functional Bus Terminal, Fire Station, and On On Cafe, which will serve in a total area of 4,500 square meters, including 1,104 square meters of closed area, were inaugurated in a ceremony. The Fire Station, established on an area of 512 square meters, includes spaces equipped with state-of-the-art technology, such as a commander’s room, control room, resting room, training hall, maintenance garage, kitchen, dormitory, prayer room, bathroom, toilets, and technical areas. The single-story terminal building, which has an area of 592 square meters, features a waiting area, five ticket sales and storage units, an administrative office, security, a lost-and-found room, a first aid room, a prayer room, a baby care room, toilets, and cafeteria units with independent entrances and open seating areas. On On Cafe, which will be a beautiful social space for Balya, will be a popular spot for citizens with its affordable and quality products catering to all budgets.

“It has become a beautiful facility for our driver tradesmen”

Rıza Tekin, the President of the Balıkesir Drivers’ Chamber, began his speech by thanking Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Akın and Balya Mayor Orhan Gaga for this beautiful facility, stating, “Terminals are what people see when they come to a district from outside. Therefore, we attach great importance to this investment. It has also become a beautiful facility for our driver tradesmen. I would like to thank everyone who contributed as a driver tradesman. I wish the newly opened facility to be beneficial and auspicious.”

“The metropolitan hand is on Balya”

Balya Mayor Orhan Gaga stated, “We are in love with Balya,” and mentioned that they continue to serve and experience firsts on their journey. He said, “For the first time in years, we are opening such a modern, healthy, and fully equipped facility that will solve some of our district’s problems. I sincerely thank everyone who contributed. The service attack we started under the leadership of our Mayor Ahmet Akın, titled ‘Balıkesir is changing, Balıkesir is transforming,’ continues at full speed. From now on, we will continue to move forward together. As Balya residents, we value our Mayor’s statement and appreciate this wind of change and transformation. I promise you, Mr. Mayor, this change and transformation will continue. Unfortunately, Balya fell short in terms of services in the past periods and was neglected. Our district needs the support and helping hand of our elders. This term, we firmly believe that we will collaborate on joint projects with our Mayor Ahmet Akın and the Metropolitan Municipality and achieve beautiful things while feeling their compassionate hands upon us. I thank all the Metropolitan Municipality officials who provided support before and after. A modern facility has been built. Our traffic problem in the market will be resolved. From now on, bus services will start from here.”

“On On Cafe is very popular”

Mayor Gaga explained that the previous Fire Station was located in a narrow and impractical area, stating, “Firefighters always need to rest while on duty. No one knows when a fire will break out. The environments where they will rest must be calm and comfortable. Today, our fire department has received a station under healthy conditions. Our service at On On Cafe, which will color our social life in Balya, started under the leadership of our Mayor Ahmet Akın. It has truly been very popular since the day it opened. All Balya residents are going there. I sincerely thank you again. I wish our newly opened facility to be beneficial and auspicious for Balya.”

“All 20 districts of Balıkesir will shine like stars”

Mayor Ahmet Akın began his speech by celebrating the 102nd anniversary of Balıkesir’s liberation. He said, “We are together for the opening of the Balya Bus Terminal and Fire Station, which includes On On Cafe. In the second century of our Republic, we are striving to make our entire homeland, from Dursunbey to Balya, from Edremit to Savaştepe, the shining star of Turkey by embracing everyone without alienation or division in the spirit of the National Forces. I have said everywhere that I will be a just mayor. It is such an important topic that even if you drink from all the rivers in the world, you cannot quench a person’s thirst for justice. Together with my 20 mayors, we continue to work with determination on this issue. We first held a Transformation Congress. We are working for a changing, transforming, and beautifying Balıkesir. There, we organized a Transformation Congress with over 5,000 participants, bringing together the collective intelligence of those who say, ‘What can I do?'”

“Four types of meals in the nearby kitchen will be 50 lira”

Mayor Akın mentioned that they have launched a Farmer Support Program, stating, “We have two support programs this year. It will continue further. We are trying to plan all the products produced in our Balıkesir. For that, we established the Balıkesir Planning and Development Agency. I want our farmers, villagers, and livestock breeders to benefit from the sale of products unique to Balıkesir. That’s why we are planning. Our ‘Nearby Kitchens’ will start operating. In these kitchens, four types of meals will be available for 50 lira. Our needy mothers, fathers, and siblings will eat and be fed there. We did this in cooperation with our tradesmen. I thank the tradesmen chambers that enabled us to carry out this project. They are truly supportive. We are in complete harmony. There can be no prominent figures without tradesmen. We stand with our tradesmen to help those who earn their bread grow their business even more.”

“Nine kindergartens will open in the first phase”

Mayor Akın stated, “We have prepared the ’10 Numara Kentte 10 Numara Kart’ (10 Out of 10 Card for the City). Its printing has been completed. So far, 5,000 cards have been printed. We identified our needy citizens in a just committee and will expand this with solidarity. We are carrying out our services with fair and transparent modeling. We said we would open kindergartens in our 20 districts. We have completed the studies and planning of our first phase, which includes 9 kindergartens. Balıkesir has a major problem that dates back a long time. For the past 40 years, sufficient infrastructure investments have not been made in this town. Our treatment plants in the Gulf region are not operational, and our sewage systems have become outdated and historical artifacts. Our irrigation pipes are literally full of holes, but I promise you from here. No matter what challenges arise, with God’s permission, we will plan all these services.”

“We will provide our citizens with better opportunities”

Mayor Ahmet Akın thanked everyone who contributed to this service that will open the way for Balya, saying, “This was a project that started from the previous term. I would like to thank everyone from the previous term’s president to the officials who allowed me to complete it, and I thank all the children, mothers, and fathers of my beloved Balıkesir in your presence. Thank you for being there. Our homeland is in a position that gives great migration. In fact, our brother Orhan fought hard to stop this migration. This is truly a love for our homeland. If there is also a fear of God, all kinds of services will come to this place, and everyone will smile. Here, we will provide our citizens and our personnel with better opportunities with modern and comfortable areas.”

“We are a candidate for Turkey’s second largest fire department”

Mayor Akın stated that they will significantly increase the capacity of the Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality’s fire department with a project they launched about two months ago, saying, “With our more than 50 fire vehicles, we are aiming to become Turkey’s second largest fire department in the upcoming period, God willing. May this be auspicious from now on. Our Balya Fire Station is fully equipped and ready to respond to fire disasters in the region. I would also like to thank our fire department on this occasion. Throughout the summer, they fought valiantly against countless fires both in Balıkesir and neighboring provinces. Our bus terminal and On On Cafe were designed as modern and comfortable areas to serve both the people of Balya and passengers passing through Balya. I wish all our new facilities to be beneficial and auspicious for all of Balıkesir.
