Citizens rescued a dog that was put in a sack and abandoned in a garbage area.

Citizens in the Antakya district of Hatay found a puppy in a tied bag in a dump area and adopted the animal to get it treated. The moments when Ibrahim Koçak and Murat Asan found the puppy were captured on camera.

Ibrahim Koçak and Murat Asan, who live in the Zülüfhan neighborhood of Antakya, set out towards the Gülderen neighborhood to spend some time. Vehicles of citizens who took a wrong turn in the Gülderen neighborhood got stuck in a dump area. While Koçak was looking around to rescue the vehicle, he noticed a bag that was moving. When Koçak realized that there were whimpering sounds coming from the bag, he opened it. He saved the puppy that had been left to die by heartless individuals, adopted the animal, and had it treated at a veterinarian. The two friends received appreciation for their actions, reacting against those who abandoned the puppy.

Ibrahim Koçak, who found the abandoned dog in the bag, said, “I had taken a wrong turn while going to the Gülderen neighborhood of Antakya. When I took the wrong turn, my vehicle got stuck. While looking around, I noticed the bag moving. My friend and I spotted the dog in the bag. I slowly opened the bag because I am afraid of dogs, and I took the dog out. We provided it with food and water with the resources we had. After getting our vehicle out from where it was stuck, we took the dog to the veterinarian. Nobody has the right to do this to any helpless animal or to the life that God has given, which cannot express itself.”

“How can they do this to a life, we cannot comprehend”

Murat Asan, who stated that they noticed the dog in the bag with his friend, said, “While going to Gülderen with my friend, we took a path. While waiting for someone to get our vehicle out, my friend saw a bag while walking. He opened the bag. We gave the water and cake we had in the car to the dog. After that, we showed it to a veterinarian. Now we have brought it with us. My friend is taking care of it. I mean, how can they do this to a life, we cannot comprehend.”
