School bus drivers were informed in Hakkari.

An information meeting was held for the school transport drivers with the participation of the Provincial Directorate of National Education, the Provincial Police Department, and the Provincial Gendarmerie Command. The meeting took place in the conference hall of the Public Education Center. In his opening speech, Acting Provincial Director of National Education Fahrettin Çelik emphasized that they attach great importance to the transportation of students in collaboration with the Provincial Gendarmerie Command and Provincial Police Department, and that the drivers should also be aware of this importance. He stated that the safety of children is paramount, mentioning that in Hakkari, 1 out of 4 students access education through transportation. “Our primary goal, along with all our stakeholder institutions, is to ensure the safety of our students who access education through transportation at the highest level, and by informing the service vehicle drivers on the highways, to elevate traffic safety to the highest level, thus preventing our road users, especially students, from being involved in traffic accidents. The safe transportation of the children entrusted to you depends on your love, interest, compassion, and mercy towards them. Therefore, we will continue to organize meetings and training sessions like today’s whenever we deem it necessary throughout the year to address such issues in detail, resolve problems, and make solution channels more functional,” he said. The officials from the Provincial Gendarmerie Command and the Provincial Police Department also stated that every person, institution, and organization has responsibilities in ensuring safe school transportation in the city, saying, “You provide a very important service by transporting our children, who are the source of happiness for our families and the guarantee of our future, from their homes to their schools and back. For this, you must keep your vehicles safe, clean, and well-maintained, and pay close attention to completing the arrangements and equipment specified in the ‘School Service Vehicles Service Regulation.’ If you act with this awareness, we will have a healthy and safe year.”
