MSKU Faculty of Dentistry has graduated its first students.

Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Faculty of Dentistry graduated its first students in the 2023-2024 academic year. In the ceremony held at the Atatürk Cultural Center, 15 July Hall, the first 29 students of the faculty experienced the joy of graduation.

MSKÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Turhan Kaçar, in his speech during the ceremony, stated that academics not only provide knowledge to students but also teach them different perspectives and their responsibilities towards society. Rector Kaçar said, “We all owe a heartfelt thank you to our academic colleagues. The efforts of our faculty’s administrative staff also deserve thanks for helping our students reach the graduation level. If our graduates have considered the buildings where they were raised as their home, much of that is due to the smiles and helpfulness they received from our entire administrative staff.”

Thanking families as well, MSKÜ Rector Kaçar said, “Today is undoubtedly a very important milestone for your families. Therefore, I congratulate each of you individually.”

Addressing the graduating students, Rector Kaçar said: “You have successfully completed your university education today, which you will look back on as the most beautiful years of your life. I hope you have accumulated beautiful memories and friendships during your university life, and that you will not lose these friendships throughout your life. You have a lot to do with the awareness of your responsibilities to yourself, your family, our country, and our state. Do not see graduation as an end.”

Kaçar also touched on technological developments, saying, “Our daily lives are constantly changing. New technologies like artificial intelligence will be at the center of all our lives in the coming years. To not be left out of this process of change, never give up on the journey of seeking knowledge. The true purpose of education is to raise you as individuals who can think critically and inquisitively and develop different perspectives.”

At the end of his speech, Kaçar offered advice to the students, saying, “All the positions you will reach in the future are temporary; what remains is the legacy you leave behind. Dear dentists, I wholeheartedly congratulate you on your graduation with these feelings and thoughts, and I wish you success and an open path.”

The ceremony concluded with the presentation of diplomas to the graduating students and the cap-throwing ceremony. The event was attended by Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Rector Prof. Dr. Turhan Kaçar, academic and administrative staff, graduating students, and their families.
