Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality’s SAMEK has opened summer courses in 9 different centers and 13 different branches, allowing hundreds of Sakaryans to acquire skills in arts and crafts such as clothing, ceramics, embroidery, woodworking, and language courses, resulting in the creation of magnificent works of art.

The Art and Vocational Training Courses (SAMEK), which provide education to thousands of trainees every year, completed the summer term courses for 2023-2024. It was stated that the new term courses will begin soon. The metropolitan area’s expert trainers provided education to hundreds of trainees throughout the summer at 9 different locations: Adapazarı, Akyazı, Ozanlar, Geyve, Güneşler, 32 Evler, Karman, Arifiye, Sapanca, and the Traditional Arts Specialization Center. Trainees receiving ‘advanced level’ training learned the intricacies of calligraphy, ceramics, beginner clothing design, clothing development, hand embroidery, crochet and knitting, trousseau, English lace, wooden painting, and Arduino programming and development arts.

In addition, hundreds of people received language training in English A1, English A2, and Arabic A1 courses. At the end of the summer season training, successful trainees received their certificates. Hundreds of people interested in professions and crafts in Sakarya proudly wore the ‘art’ bracelet. The works created by the trainees with the arts they learned throughout the summer season amazed those who saw them, with wonderful pieces showcased in all branches, from ceramics to painting, calligraphy to woodworking.

13 branches, 9 centers, and great success

In a statement made by the Department of Culture and Social Affairs, it was stated, “The 2023-2024 summer term of our Art and Vocational Training Courses (SAMEK) has been completed this year with the participation of hundreds of our trainees. We congratulate our trainees who successfully completed their training in the courses held in 13 different branches and 9 separate centers and our trainers who worked with great dedication. As the Metropolitan Municipality, we will continue to be the greatest guides for our citizens in their journey of self-discovery.”

A new horizon, a new dream

With the certificates they received, trainees will be able to apply the arts and crafts they learned in the private sector, educational institutions, and many other areas. Students who have opened a new horizon and door of dreams in their lives express their gratitude to the Metropolitan Municipality.
