Denizli Chamber of Commerce (DSO) and Trendyol collaborated for the first time locally to hold the Trendyol Denizli Exporter Meeting, which addressed topics such as micro-export, e-commerce, and e-export, bringing together industry representatives.

The event, held at the DSO Müjdat Keçeci Council Hall and receiving intense interest, was attended by DSO Board Chairman Selim Kasapoğlu, Council President İ. Okan Konyalıoğlu, Board Members, registered exporting companies of DSO, Denizli Exporters’ Association (DENİB) Vice President İbrahim Uzunoğlu, Trendyol Group President Çağlayan Çetin, Trendyol Co-Founder Begüm Tekin, and Trendyol Marketplace Sales and Business Development Director Özkan Çokaygil.

“E-export opens new doors for us”
DSO President Selim Kasapoğlu, in his opening speech at the meeting, stated that Denizli is known for its rich trade history and dynamic industrial structure throughout history, emphasizing that keeping pace with the speed of competition and change in the modern world is only possible with more than just past successes. He said that e-commerce and micro-export open both opportunities and new paths for industrial cities like Denizli.
Kasapoğlu noted that e-commerce is a faster, easier, and lower-cost sales method, saying, “We all know that in today’s world, where global competition is rapidly increasing, export has become inevitable for the growth and sustainability of businesses. Especially with the digital transformation experienced in recent years, export doors have been opened even wider. E-commerce offers us a faster, easier, and lower-cost alternative compared to traditional trading methods.”

“We want to increase our export potential through e-export”
President Kasapoğlu expressed that approximately 3,000 companies in Denizli are engaged in e-export through Trendyol, stating, “The share of e-export in Denizli is 1%. Denizli ranks 5th in exports among provinces. The first four are Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, and Bursa. We learned that about 3,000 of our companies are engaged in e-export through Trendyol. This makes us very happy. These figures can be further increased with our belief, determination, and consistent efforts. We are aware of our city’s interest and potential in e-export and e-commerce. Our goal is to continue on our path by building upon this potential.”

“E-export offers many advantages”
DENİB Vice President İbrahim Uzunoğlu stated that the share of Denizli in e-export needs to increase, emphasizing that e-export provides many advantages such as ease of operational processes, customs exemptions, and ease of market entry, saying, “According to global trends, it is expected that by 2030, 85% of trade will be conducted through e-commerce. Denizli continues to work in this direction, aiming to grow further in e-export. We must support e-export to further increase our province’s potential in this field.”

“We are candidates to be a locomotive in the e-commerce world”
Trendyol Group President Çağlayan Çetin, speaking at the DSO meeting, stated that their work towards e-export is ongoing. He noted that they provide services to customers right to their doors in more than 20 countries, mentioning, “We set out to focus on export markets with our investments. We have reached over 10 million customers outside the Middle East and Europe. We provide direct service to customers’ doors in over 20 countries. In these countries, we developed our technological infrastructure with an application where each country will have its own language application. As we increase our product and seller numbers, our ability to win will also increase.”

Çetin expressed that they are candidates to be a locomotive in the e-commerce world, stating, “In terms of the quality of products coming from Turkey, we are in a position to compete very well globally. As we enter these markets together with our sellers and increase our product diversity, we believe that when we deliver orders to customers there in 2-3 days instead of 2 weeks, we will all win in these countries. We must be present in the e-commerce world.”

“You open up export with a single click”
Following the speeches, Trendyol Marketplace Sales and Business Development Director Özkan Çokaygil presented the market potential and the contributions they provide to Turkey’s exports. He detailed their efforts to connect products made in Turkey with foreign buyers in the overseas market, saying, “You open up export with a single click.”

At the event, where participants’ questions were answered, DSO President Selim Kasapoğlu presented gifts to Trendyol Group President Çağlayan Çetin and Trendyol Co-Founder Begüm Tekin in memory of the day.
