The children who practice sports within the Alaşehir Municipality Sports Karate Team experienced the joy of swimming in the sea for the first time in their lives.

The children of the Alaşehir Municipality Sports Karate Team enjoyed the sun on the beach while seeing the sea for the first time in Kuşadası. The karate kids first visited the Nazarköy neighborhood in Kemalpaşa district of İzmir. Witnessing the production stages of the Nazar boncuğu, which Nazarköy is famous for, the children from Alaşehir then toured the village of Şirince in Selçuk district of İzmir. After taking plenty of souvenir photos, the children’s last stop was Kuşadası. The children who swam in the sea and sunbathed on the beach had a wonderful day.

Alaşehir Municipality Sports Karate Coach Bilal Gültekin stated that Mayor Ahmet Öküzcüğlu has always supported them and encouraged children to engage in different activities beyond sports in meetings. He mentioned that they organized a trip for the children attending the course in Uluderbent neighborhood. Emphasizing that they opened karate courses in 5 neighborhoods including Alaşehir center and have 220 athletes, Karate Coach Bilal Gültekin explained that with the support of Mayor Öküzcüoğlu, they took the children who would see the sea for the first time to Kuşadası. Coach Gültekin stated that they also visited Nazarköy and Şirince, saying, “With the support of our Mayor in Alaşehir, we have opened courses in 5 neighborhoods. The children are coming to karate intensively. We want to broaden the horizons of these children with cultural and social activities outside of sports. I believe we have been successful in this regard.”
