The 102nd anniversary of the Great Offensive and the Commander-in-Chief Battle, crowned with victory by the Turkish army under the leadership of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, was celebrated with enthusiasm in Ataşehir on August 30.

In Ataşehir, the 102nd anniversary of the Great Offensive turned into a festival with a torchlight procession and a concert. The torchlight procession, which began on Ataşehir Boulevard in the Atatürk Neighborhood, was attended by thousands of citizens, including Ataşehir Mayor Onursal Adıgüzel, who carried Turkish flags and torches while singing anthems. The procession concluded at Amfili Park. During the Victory Day event held in Amfili Park, where hundreds of people participated, the Ataşehir Municipality City Orchestra took the stage. The event started with a moment of silence and the reading of the Independence March, followed by a concert featuring beautiful songs. The people of Ataşehir celebrated August 30 Victory Day with great enthusiasm.

“We are celebrating our victory with great enthusiasm”

Ataşehir Mayor Onursal Adıgüzel, who participated in the August 30 Victory Day celebrations, stated, “On the 102nd anniversary of the great victory of August 30, we commemorate Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his comrades with our neighbors in Ataşehir. We are also celebrating our victory with great enthusiasm. The fire of independence rising from all over Anatolia resulted in a permanent and decisive victory 102 years ago. Especially, the steps towards the establishment of the Republic of Turkey as an eternal Republic were taken. We, too, are celebrating our August 30 Victory Day here by upholding the legacy of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk from Ataşehir, working hard and striving to be public servants worthy of him. Most importantly, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk said, ‘There are no hopeless situations; there are hopeless people.’ He stated that he never lost hope. We, too, look to the future with that hope. We are doing our best to be part of a process that will sustain our Republic for centuries, carry it into eternity, and also connect the children of the Republic with prosperity.”
