The Victory Day on August 30 was celebrated with enthusiasm in Kucukcekmece.

The 102nd anniversary of August 30 Victory Day was celebrated with enthusiasm in Küçükçekmece. In his speech during the event, Küçükçekmece Mayor Kemal Çebi stated, “We consider August 30 as a year crowned with liberation, establishment, and our Republic, and we celebrate this day with great enthusiasm.”

On the 102nd anniversary of August 30 Victory Day, Küçükçekmece Municipality organized a series of events. Mayor Kemal Çebi and the district protocol conducted a walk starting from Tevfik Bey Neighborhood and ending by the lake in Fatih Neighborhood. Mayor Çebi greeted the public during the walk attended by thousands of citizens and celebrated Victory Day. Following the program, thousands of citizens gathered at the Küçükçekmece Municipality Amphitheater and paid tribute to Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his comrades. Following this, the famous actor and voice artist Hakkı Ergök read Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s Address to the Youth. The program continued with a DJ performance after Mayor Kemal Çebi’s speech.

“August 30 is the date crowned with our Republic and our democracy”

In his speech at the program, Küçükçekmece Mayor Kemal Çebi said, “August 30 is the date crowned with liberation, freedom, our Republic, and our democracy for our country and our nation. It is the date that crowns the establishment of a state and the emergence of an independent country. It is very precious and valuable for our country. Our aim is to honor Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his friends, to crown our independence and Republic. August 30 is the result of a relentless and beautiful struggle they gave. To protect this Republic entrusted to us, we will continue to walk forward with the enthusiasm we experience in our country every August 30, in the direction shown by our Atatürk, and to strengthen it. We must pass this legacy on to our children. We must teach this legacy to future generations and leave it to them. That is why we accept August 30 as a year crowned with liberation, establishment, and our Republic, and we celebrate this day with great enthusiasm. We are already looking forward to August 30 with longing. As Küçükçekmece, we started with a wreath-laying ceremony in memory of the great victory, and we continue until this hour. Happy August 30 Victory Day to all our country and to everyone who loves this country.”
