“You look very beautiful Beyoğlu”
Beyoğlu Mayor İnan Güney stated, “I want to commemorate with respect and gratitude. You, the people, gave strength to this Republic enthusiasm from the squares and streets. We will continue to shout the Republic, the victory, more loudly in the streets, schools, squares, and open areas. We will never forget those who paid the price for the Republic, my valuable neighbors. I celebrate our August 30 Victory Day. Under our glorious flag, I wish for many more victories in unity, solidarity, and brotherhood. Thank you all again for the strength you provided and for sharing your enthusiasm.”
“Happy Victory Day”
Beşiktaş Mayor Rıza Akpolat said, “We were at Beşiktaş Square. We celebrated our Victory Day with tens of thousands of our neighbors in a very enthusiastic way, just like we are here. It is still continuing to be celebrated there. I want to briefly mention something. The Great Leader Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk took the first step towards liberation on May 15, 1919, by leaving his house in Şişli, receiving his mother’s blessing in Beşiktaş Akaretler, and boarding the Bandırma ferry from Beyoğlu, thus starting the War of Independence. Therefore, the first step towards victory was taken from this route. And as the mayors of these three districts, we start each day with this sense of responsibility as we fulfill our duties. We continue to carry the principles, revolutions, and values entrusted to us by the Great Leader Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk into the future. As long as we breathe, we will continue to celebrate these in these areas with great enthusiasm together with you. Happy Victory Day.”
“You look very beautiful Beyoğlu”
Şişli Mayor Resul Emrah Şahan stated, “You look very beautiful Beyoğlu. Happy Victory Day to you. May your Victory Day be joyful. I thank the Mayor of Beyoğlu very much. I thank the Mayor of Beşiktaş very much. Together, the three of us, as three districts, will celebrate these festive days in the squares with more enthusiasm for bright tomorrows. Thank you all very much.”
