The final of the 19th Traditional Bahçelievler Kocasinan Oil Wrestling was filled with great excitement. Last year’s champion, Mustafa Taş, faced his cousin Erkan Taş in the final this year. Erkan Taş won the tough final match, achieving the championship and a significant success. The final wrestling was a challenging competition. The match went to VAR and was reviewed three times by the tower referees. After the review, Erkan Taş was declared the head wrestler.

Important figures in wrestling gathered in Bahçelievler
The Traditional Bahçelievler Kocasinan Oil Wrestling took place on Saturday, August 31, at the Bahçelievler Family and Social Services Provincial Directorate Bahçelievler Campus. Over 600 wrestlers donned their kispet and took their place in the wrestling arena under the slogan “Wrestlers are tying up in Bahçelievler.” The event featured Yusuf Can Zeybek, who won the head wrestling title at the Kırkpınar Wrestling, along with Mustafa Taş, Ali Gürbüz, and İsmail Balaban, as well as Turkey’s youngest wrestler, Yıldıray Pala. Additionally, famous wrestlers Recep Kara, Orhan Okullu, Hüseyin Gümüşalan, and Mehmet Yeşilyeşil also wore kispet at the traditional wrestling event. Erkan Taş, who is the cousin of last year’s 18th Traditional Kocasinan Oil Wrestling champion Mustafa Taş, drew attention this year.

Intense interest in the event
The organization hosted by Bahçelievler Mayor Dr. Hakan Bahadır was attended by Bilal Öz, a member of the Board of Directors of the Turkish Traditional Wrestling Federation, Bahçelievler District Governor Dr. Mehmet Boztepe, and famous wrestlers Taha Akgül and Ahmet Taşçı. The event also included the Chief of the Historical Kırkpınar Oil Wrestling, Ufuk Özünlü.

In his speech, Bahçelievler Mayor Dr. Hakan Bahadır stated, “All our head wrestlers are successful friends in their fields. We will continue to achieve success in all areas of sports. Turkey aims to be among the top leagues in sports in this century. Under the leadership of our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, we will be among the top ranks in sports.” Additionally, the Wrestling Chief Mustafa Açıkgöz was awarded a gold belt during the event.

At the end of the wrestling matches, the Head Wrestling Final Matches were held. Last year’s champion, Head Wrestler Mustafa Taş faced his cousin Erkan Taş. The final wrestling was subject to video review. After the footage was reviewed three times by the tower referees, the decision was announced. After a tough battle, Erkan Taş achieved victory and earned the title of head wrestler. Taş received the championship trophy and belt from Bahçelievler Deputy Mayor Ayhan Kalkan. The event concluded with a photo session.
