The Traditional Bahçelievler Kocasinan Oil Wrestling took place on Saturday, August 31, at the Bahçelievler Family and Social Services Provincial Directorate Bahçelievler Campus. Over 600 wrestlers donned their kispet and took their place in the wrestling arena under the slogan “Wrestlers are tying up in Bahçelievler.” The event featured Yusuf Can Zeybek, who won the head wrestling title at the Kırkpınar Wrestling, along with Mustafa Taş, Ali Gürbüz, and İsmail Balaban, as well as Turkey’s youngest wrestler, Yıldıray Pala. Additionally, famous wrestlers Recep Kara, Orhan Okullu, Hüseyin Gümüşalan, and Mehmet Yeşilyeşil also wore kispet at the traditional wrestling event. Erkan Taş, who is the cousin of last year’s 18th Traditional Kocasinan Oil Wrestling champion Mustafa Taş, drew attention this year.

The organization hosted by Bahçelievler Mayor Dr. Hakan Bahadır was attended by Bilal Öz, a member of the Board of Directors of the Turkish Traditional Wrestling Federation, Bahçelievler District Governor Dr. Mehmet Boztepe, and famous wrestlers Taha Akgül and Ahmet Taşçı. The event also included the Chief of the Historical Kırkpınar Oil Wrestling, Ufuk Özünlü.

The final wrestling was subject to video review. After the footage was reviewed three times by the tower referees, the decision was announced. After a tough battle, Erkan Taş achieved victory and earned the title of head wrestler. Taş received the championship trophy and belt from Bahçelievler Deputy Mayor Ayhan Kalkan.
