In Datça district of Muğla, within the framework of August 30 Victory Day, District Governor Murat Atıcı, Mayor Aytaç Kurt, and the district protocol visited the graves of the martyrs from Datça who gave their lives for this land. During the ceremony, prayers were recited for the martyrs, expressing gratitude and respect.

The commemoration program organized for August 30 Victory Day was carried out with great significance and emotional intensity. District Governor Murat Atıcı, Mayor Aytaç Kurt, and the district protocol visited the graves of the Datça martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the homeland. Carnations were placed on the graves of the martyrs and prayers were offered. Governor Murat Atıcı emphasized the importance of the martyrs’ sacrifices in the nation’s struggle for independence, stating, “We remember our noble martyrs who made it possible for us to live freely and independently on this land with mercy. It is our duty to protect the legacies they left us.”

Mayor Aytaç Kurt noted that the martyrs are the guarantee of Turkey’s independence and sovereignty, saying, “These lands were watered with the blood of our martyrs. Their sacrifices form the foundation of our nation’s struggle for existence. It is our great responsibility to pass this spirit on to future generations and uphold our history.”

Emotional moments were experienced during the visits, which were also attended by the families of the martyrs. The martyr families expressed that keeping the memory of their children alive is an honorable duty. The district protocol, while praying at the graves, also chatted with the families of the martyrs, reaffirming to them that they are not alone.
