The “Pendik Coffee Festival”, organized for the fourth time by Pendik Municipality this year, opened its doors to coffee lovers at Pendik Coastal Square. The festival, which will last for 3 days and includes workshops, discussions, live music, a 360 Degree Video Booth, Coffee Gift Wheel, and caricaturist entertainment corners, will also feature famous artists performing in the evenings.

The Pendik Coffee Festival, organized by Pendik Municipality, will meet with coffee lovers on August 30-31 – September 1, 2024, at Pendik Coastal Square. The festival brings together various and special types of coffee, numerous contents about coffee, and festival-specific events alongside coffee for its guests. At the festival, where taste and entertainment come together, there will also be tasting tests, workshops, discussions, live music, a 360 Degree Video Booth, Coffee Gift Wheel, and caricaturist entertainment corners.

The festival takes place with the participation of 42 participants, including 15 local Pendik companies and 16 participants from various districts of Istanbul, as well as Brazilian baristas residing in Ankara, Izmir, Kocaeli, Konya, Elazığ, and Pendik. Additionally, in the concerts held in the evenings during the festival, Murat Kekilli, Tuğçe Kandemir, and Oğuzhan Koç will meet with music lovers.

The opening of the festival was attended by Pendik District Governor Mehmet Yıldız, Pendik Mayor Ahmet Cin, and many citizens. Governor Yıldız and Mayor Ahmet Cin visited the coffee stands, chatting with vendors and citizens.

Belkıs Tetik, who participated in the festival with her coffee jam product, said, “We make coffee jam. When you mix coffee jam with milk, you can make either cold or hot coffee. We are letting our guests taste these here. We also sell coffee jam.”

Hilal Yurduseven, who offered coffee baklava and coffee cookie products for tasting at the festival, stated, “We are participating in this event organized by Pendik Municipality for the third time. This year, especially for the festival, our special master from Antep made our Turkish coffee baklava product from the coffee beans we roast ourselves. We invite everyone to come here for tasting.”

Ömür Arslan said, “We serve espresso-based products from our coffee cart. We have an interesting feature; when we go to festivals, there’s no need for them to ask us where we will sleep. Because we set up our tent on the terrace of the cart and stay there. It’s both our home and our job.”

Mayor Ahmet Cin stated, “Coffee has a very important place in our society. We wanted to organize an effort to pass this on to future generations, which is why we started this festival four years ago. Now we are holding the fourth one. It is a festival featuring many coffee producers and sellers from abroad and within the country. We invite Istanbulites to taste coffee. We will also have concerts in the evenings.”
