The event titled ‘Hello China, Hello Turkey’, which introduces Chinese culture, was held with a tour on the Bosphorus in Istanbul. Students participating in the event were informed about Chinese culture.

A themed event introducing Chinese culture was organized on the Bosphorus, which connects the continents of Asia and Europe. Games were played at the event, traditional clothes were worn, and food was eaten. The event was attended by students learning Chinese and members of the press.

“China and Turkey are two countries building the Belt and Road together”

Event coordinator and journalist Zhao Beibei stated that throughout history, Chinese and Turkish civilizations have always been close to each other, saying, “The title of the event, Hi China Hi ‘Hello Turkey, Hello China’, as can be understood from its name, promotes increasing cultural exchange between China and Turkey. We chose the Bosphorus, which is a beautiful location for the event. Here, we particularly want to promote Chinese culture. There are many programs in the event; for example, we will teach the traditional Chinese greeting, girls will wear traditional Chinese clothing, and in addition, the traditional Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival is approaching, so we will bring the celebration customs of this festival here. For instance, we brought Chinese pastries and mooncakes. Besides solving riddles, we will all read traditional Chinese poems together. Overall, we will promote Chinese culture here. Because throughout history, Chinese and Turkish civilizations have always been close. China and Turkey held the two ends of the historical Silk Road. Today, China and Turkey are two countries jointly building the Belt and Road. Therefore, it is very important for China and Turkey to know each other directly.”
