The Aydın Elazığlar Culture and Solidarity Association continues to keep the culture of their homeland alive in Aydın. Elazığ residents living in Aydın alleviated their longing for their hometown this time at the Tel Kebap (Pepper Kebap) event.
At the Tel Kebap event organized by the Aydın Elazığlar Culture and Solidarity Association (AYED), local delicacies from Elazığ were presented to fellow citizens living in Aydın. Peppers, tulum cheese, and grapes brought from Elazığ were served to guests along with tırnak bread. A large number of association members and guests who have a fondness for Elazığ attended the event. After the meal, works belonging to the Elazığ region were performed for the guests by the association’s ‘Kürsübaşı Team.’ The guests, along with Elazığ residents living in Aydın, experienced a unique night. Elazığ residents, who alleviate their longing for their hometown with different events organized at regular intervals, continue to ensure solidarity and integration by sharing these cultures with the people of Aydın.
“We will continue to live and preserve our culture”
The President of the Aydın Elazığlar Culture and Solidarity Association (AYED), Necati Gür, stated in a statement that they established the association in 2020 to alleviate the longing of Elazığ residents living in Aydın and to foster integration among fellow citizens: “We came together once again in a different event where we experienced our culture with our fellow citizens living in Aydın, our neighbors, and guests who have a fondness for Elazığ. We served our Elazığ-specific peppers, tulum cheese, grapes, and tırnak bread to our valuable fellow citizens and guests. We are happy to live our ongoing Tel Kebap tradition during the pepper season in Elazığ with our fellow citizens in Aydın. Those who encountered Tel Kebap for the first time at our association met various beautiful jokes before the meal and expressed that they loved it and wanted it again after the meal. We will continue to live and preserve our culture by gathering with our fellow citizens,” he said.
An Invitation from President Gür
President Gür expressed that the association is open to all residents of Aydın: “In this brotherhood environment we have created in Aydın, we will continue to represent our culture in the best way. We aim to integrate Elazığ residents living in Aydın with Aydın locals. We continue our efforts to pass our culture on to future generations. Our association is open not only to Elazığ residents but to all Aydın residents. We invite everyone to our association,” he said, inviting everyone to join.
