In a statement made on the occasion of August 30 Victory Day, former Minister of Youth and Sports and AK Party Izmir MP Dr. Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu emphasized that they celebrate one of the brightest pages of history with great enthusiasm and pride, saying, “Today, we celebrate one of the brightest pages of our history with even greater pride and enthusiasm. August 30 Victory Day is one of the most important cornerstones of the struggle our nation fought for independence and freedom and the unique epic it wrote with determination and resolve. Exactly 102 years ago, under the leadership of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the Turkish nation rose against the occupiers who coveted its lands, declaring its desire for independence to the whole world with the unparalleled victory it achieved at Dumlupınar as a result of the Great Offensive. This victory is not only a military success but also a symbol of our nation’s will to uphold its glorious past, love for the homeland, and passion for freedom.” Kasapoğlu, emphasizing that the Turkish nation is aware of the sacrifices made for the August 30 Victory, stated, “Every individual in our nation is aware of the sacrifices and heroism behind this great victory.
